Anxiety of Today

Anxiety. It is a word we seem to be hearing in many places today and used in a variety of contexts. However, what is anxiety? According to The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, anxiety is “A state of uneasiness and apprehension, as about future uncertainties.” Another explanation from this source states that anxiety is

Challenges Facing Today’s Men

Being a young man today often feels like standing in the middle of a tug-of-war. We’re pulled in numerous different directions by expectations — from school, friends, family, and especially the culture around us. Many of my peers my age are trying to figure out who we’re supposed to be, but it’s hard when the messages we receive are so mixed. After reflecting on this and discussing it with friends, I believe there are several challenges that guys like me are currently facing.

The Missed Potential of Generation Z Men

There are many issues that Generation Z men face today. This group, born between 1997-2009, are struggling to understand their God-given role as the “keeper of the garden”1. In the US alone, one out of every four boys is growing up without a father in their home, which is proving to lead to many of the societal issues (as seen below). If they do not have strong role models to help them see God’s purposes for their lives, how will they be able to rise above these challenges and fulfill their purposes?

Today’s Women

Generation Z women were born between 1997 and 2009, making them between 16 and 28 years old today. This generation of women is the first to grow up with a variety of technologies, such as the iPhone and the internet, which all prior generations at least had some time without. Despite the capabilities at their hands, this generation of women is facing more mental health challenges than any other generation as well.

Challenges Facing Today’s Women

In today’s society, women face many challenges that persist from day to day. While there are countless challenges plaguing women specifically in Gen Z, five issues stand out the most.

Firstly, women in Gen Z struggle with mental health issues. While mental health issues are common among people, no matter the gender or age, women in Gen Z face a significant amount of stress, anxiety, and depression due to the increasing number of social media platforms.

February 2024 Barnabas Letter

It’s always good to reflect. During our CCTI’s recent goal-planning retreat, we wanted to review what we are doing well and how we can continue to improve.
