In Focus
24 February 2026
One of the lessons that CCTI focuses upon is “Promoting Resiliency.” We have all witnessed individuals who seem to “recover” from life struggles well. Unfortunately, we also know individuals who seem to struggle greatly to return to “normal” after a difficult life event. There are many factors that can affect how well one seems to “bounce back” or not, which we explore throughout the courses. We also discuss activities that we can engage with that help those struggling move back to a place of thriving.
In the following article shared with us by the Thrive Ministry, you will see the concept of resiliency defined, and five helpful techniques are explored. One technique we share with our students is the importance of seeing what is going well and what we have to be thankful for in the midst of the trials. A great deal of research shows that if we can change the negative neural pathways formed by trauma< by focusing on positive experiences, those pathways can be transformed. This concept is supported by the research on neuroplasticity.
As we all begin a New Year, we pray that you find this information helpful in encouraging, enriching, and equipping you as you live out God’s purposes in your life. As always, we are here to help if you need us, and we pray you have a blessed 2026!
