Prayer Events from Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAAST)

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82: 3-4

Host a Pray for Freedom Simulcast Site

On September 23, 2017 we will be having Pray for Freedom DC. As with our Pray for Freedom CA event, we don’t want this to be just a prayer event in DC, we want this to be a global event where people from “every nation, tribe, people and language” (Revelation 7:9) join together in prayer. For that to happen we need your help by hosting a simulcast location. These documents can help you host your own simulcast location.
Email FAAST if you have any questions, or if you decide to host a simulcast so we can help promote your location.

Attend the Live Event

If you are in the DC area on September 23, join us for the live event. Pray for Freedom DC will be held at the House Visitor’s Center Room 201 of the Capitol Building. Confirmed speakers include Cindy McCain of the McCain Institute, as well as representatives from national and international organizations and a survivor of human trafficking. Join us in prayer as we pray for trafficking victims, survivors, aftercare workers, purchasers and traffickers.

FAAST Round table and Networking Event

In addition, FAAST will be hosting round tables for FAAST members and Affiliates before Pray for Freedom. These round tables will be a series of meetings as we learn from experts in the field, discuss how to improve our work and network together.  Join us on September 22nd and 23rd at Ebenezer’s Coffee House at 201 F Street NE, Washington DC, 20002 on the lower level. Email FAAST if you are interested. Registration is free for FAAST members and Affiliates and $30 for non-members.

Freedom Sunday

We want the weekend of September 23rd to be a time where your community focuses on ending human trafficking. We not only encourage you to host a simulcast in your community, but also for your church to participate in Freedom Sunday on September 24, 2017. We encourage your church to take this day and dedicate it to educating your congregation on not only the tragedy human trafficking, but more importantly how they can make a difference. We have the materials necessary to help you plan. You can find various materials including Bible studies, prayer guides and toolkits here. And keep checking back as we update with more information. And if you can’t host Freedom Sunday on September 24th, you can have Freedom Sunday at a time that works better for your church.

Prayer Focus

Join together with us in this prayer from our Affiliate partner Betty Lara of the Glory House of Miami.

“Heavenly Father,
We are so thankful for your love and mercy! Thank you that you have called us to love those that are broken, in bondage and that need your saving grace.
We are so privileged that you have given us the lives of human trafficking survivors to show them that nothing is impossible with you and that there is freedom in Christ Jesus!
We give you the city of Miami, this region, nation and the world and ask you to use our hands and feet to set captives free.  We are so honored that you have trusted us to go out in the streets and love women that need your love and for giving them a safe place to live.
We put in your hands the ones that you have already brought us and we thank you for those that are to come.  Thank you that you have already provided on the cross all that we need and they need for life and godliness.
Father, you are awesome, you are wonderful! We cannot thank you enough for your manifest presence in our lives so that we can build your Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.
May you be Glorified in all that we do!
In the powerful Name of Jesus we pray this!!”
